The Rockets got an all time great center in Hakeem, so not the worst decision ever... but the Blazers made a decision that would haunt their franchise forever. Sam god damn Bowie. Cmon. What a bunch of idiots.

Michael Jordan was thinking faster than others, reacted faster than others and he could fly above them... As a kid from Greece watching basketball through television, never saw a player so tall moving like that except one Greek player named "Nikos Gkalis" who initialy learned basketball in the NBA and then came to Greece and became the legend. Michael is just naturally gifted man, the rest could learn a lot from him.

It has been decades since MJ showed the world his greatness and he never stopped displaying his gifts for hoop'n. Thanks for the memories.

I feel very fortunate to have been able to watch him from the start in college, right up through the pros and his final retirement. He could play any position against any player anytime. Full court awareness no matter where he was at, and that includes the players on his own team and the players on the opponents. Passing dribbling shooting jumping dunking one of the greatest of all time. God I wish I could go back to those days. What a great time to be alive :-) MJ was the real deal and in my opinion deserves the goat!

And the reason I did is because i knew i would see something I've never seen before.. he never disappointed. If you are only watching highlights you don't get it and you never will. Jordan was amazing every night, never disappointed.

There was this one area by the beach where each country had a symbol as the representation of the country. It was England Belgium Germany Italy and many other countries. Micheal Jordan 3 story tall bronze statue was America’s symbol , which was standing out by far more than any other symbol. So many people always lined up to have their pictures taken next to the bronze statue. I was amazed and had goosebumps by seeing all that hype and emotions around Michael statue. Rest of my trip that summer, I kept thinking about the statue and keep smiling with joy 😃.

Here’s a little known fact on this. Jimmy really did his homework this time because I grew up in the Jordan era & only seen this talked about 1 time. I think it was on an ESPN short or something like that. Anyways, in the video they were talking about how the NBA players kinda went half ass the first game, they lost, and so in the second game the coach for the NBA team kept (and I think this cane from Bobby Knight because I remember they had a clip of Knight rushing over trying to kill the opposing coach)... he was mad because the NBA players were fouling Jordan, hard fouls, whenever he got the ball. Some combination of the coach’s instructions & the NBA players being butthurt about losing.

It came to a head when Jordan was basically closelined going up for a dunk. I’m pretty sure it was late in game 2. So, MJ being who he is was not letting that slide. Players & coaches on the team said MJ’s approach changed. He went from this is just another practice to I’m about to end these men’s whole career. Like the NBA players might not of gotten touched like that, 0-8 to a college team, if they just hadn’t gotten butthurt about losing the first game.

I also remember something about Bobby Knight playing Jordan the whole game in one of those games to make sure they got the win & to send a message to the other coach.

                                                                      • Joshua Frick

No offense to MJ, but Wilt is the GOAT. 72 NBA records to this day...if MJ was better, those records would be his.

@Ulysses432 Wilt averaged 50 points and 30 rebounds in a single season. By the time Lebron retires MJ won't even be in possession of 7 NBA records. Comparatively Wilt's 72 NBA records, 68 which are solely his, will stand the test of time. Do a little more research on Wilt and you'll find the vertical proof. Regardless, at over 7' and 300 lbs, as well as a vertical in excess of 48", there has never been a more phenomenal athlete to grace an NBA floor.

Nor is there ANY proof of his "vertical" or his "bench pressing". Nor do his high school "track records". Don't believe me? On Reddit a researcher looked up the high school track records from PA (where Wilt grew up) and not only were the state records not at the level of what Wilt claimed them to be - he wasn't EVEN RANKED in the top finishers. The mythology of Wilt (half of which can be directly attributed to Wilt himself) is larger than his game. Sure he averaged 44 ppg. one season - and his team went 31-49. Wilt: more myth than anyone before or since.

Wilt played in a small league in which he towered and had few capable adversaries. He's not better than Michael Jordan.
